According to sources, TNA Wrestling continues to try to sign their top talents to "big money deals" despite their well-documented financial issues as of late. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that one wrestler whose contract is expiring in the near future was offered a six-figure deal by TNA to come in and be a top star. That person is reportedly expected to take a lower offer withWWE (NXT). There are rumors that it may be ROH star "Moose."
Also, Drew Galloway, Matt & Jeff Hardy were all expected to talk with TNA Wrestling over the course of the TV tapings this week about signing new deals. In these deals, TNA is looking for exclusivity and to book the talent to independent promoters. Galloway works a very heavy independent schedule both in the US and internationally. The Hardys make big money on their independent appearances, not just for wrestling but for merchandise, autographs and photos. It will be interesting to see if they would give up what they currently have as far as their current deals go, because it could result in a significant loss for them.
As previously reported here on eWrestlingNews.com, Bobby Lashley recently re-signed with the company. His deal is not exclusive as he'll still be fighting for Bellator MMA and also is working regularly for Elite Lucha Libre in Mexico.
Another story that needs to be watched is the tour of India. TNA’s tour got cancelled last year, and they will need to tour there this year to honor the terms of the contract. Sony Six will cover some of the tour costs, but it will still cost TNA a “significant amount of money” to run. If for some reason they cannot run the tour, and breach the deal with Sony Six, that would be considered a disaster because the Sony Six deal is one of the few sources of significant income that the company has------wrestlingnews.com
