Stage set for Ramadan football tournament in Dubai

All is set for the Ramadan football tournament as the preparation match between FC Dubai and Iranian national team was played on Wednesday, and it ended 3-2 in favour of Iranian national team

The match, which kicked off at Iranian stadium on April 18th, at exactly 10pm set the stage for the Ramadan tournament competition which will soon kick off officially  

It was a great competition between the two teams as they displayed various football skills which drew a lot of applause from football lovers who had thronged the stadium to cheer their darling teams.

At the end of the match, a Nigerian and Central defense marshal of FC Dubai, who is also the captain of the team, Ogochukwu Joseph, was voted as the man of the match.

Speaking to Daylight.ng after the match, Joseph said  the match was an experience but unfortunately they lost.

“Without mincing words, the match came with numerous positivity. The sad thing is that we lost.

“We actually put in a great effort to equalize the match but it all proved abortive.

“With this experience we do hope that we will be able to use it to correct all the mistake we made during the match,” he added.


The defender who played grassroot football at under 16 level with Togo football club and later moved to Stuttgart FC in  2015 before pitching his tenth with FC Dubai last year was a delight to behold as many fans shouted his name in appreciation of his football skills.
