Actress Halima Abubakar has shared a testimony on how she survived fibroid removal surgery
According to her, the surgery took place in India
Popular Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar who has been away from the country for a while has undergone a successful fibroid removal surgery in India.
The 31-year-old screen diva took to her Instagram page and shared a photo from the surgery and also wrote about the disease which almost claimed her life.
She wrote; "Myomectomy is an operation to remove fibroid tumours (myomas) from the uterus. This retains the uterus, and is an alternative treatment to hysterectomy. It is sometimes a more difficult operation than hysterectomy but preserves reproductive choice for the patient."
Another celebrity who had previously spoken up about having fibroid is director Kemi Adetiba who battled an extreme case of fibroid.
Halima began acting in 2001 when she played a minor role in Rejected. Her first lead role was in Gangster Paradise. She is also the CEO of a Modehouse Entertainment, a music label and entertainment management company. naij
