Popular comedian Seyi Law has waded into the war between the Ooni of Ife and Oba of Lagos

No, he did not criticize any of the kings. Instead he offered his followers a course on the true origins of the Yoruba race

He also wrote on why the Alaafin of Oyo will never succumb to the Ooni of Ife

In an attempt to better explain the intricacies surrounding seniority amongst kings in Yoruba land, popular comedian Seyi Law took to twitter to detail what he says is the true history of the Yoruba race.

This is coming after a video showing the Ooni of Ife being disrespected by the Oba of Lagos went viral. Most considered the behavior of the King of Lagos to be extremely embarrassing as the Ooni of Ife is regarded to be the number one king in Yoruba land. But Seyi Law has given another dimension to the matter.

''I am about to write a thread that can bring me insults but I don't care. The Ooni and the Eleko of Eko sorry Oba of Lagos. Lol

First, we all need to know that the Yoruba written History is faulty. Yes, it is very faulty and that is why there are many confusions

The People called the Yorubas today were not so named until the early 1500 or thereabout. They were people of different languages.

Their origin was the same as Original Africans with links to the creation of Olodumare through Orunmila (Baba Ifa), god of divination.

The foundation of their history was however distorted by the arrival of Oduduwa from supposed Mecca with powers beyond the rulers then.

This simply means the "Yorubas" have been before Oduduwa. This caused grudges amongst the people. Refusal to be ruled by a foreigner.

Some people from the lineages of Obatala and co. decided to secede from their ancestral origin of Ile-Ife. A subtle battle happened.

This is where the history of Moremi came and all. The Oduduwa loins led to Oranmiyan who was very powerful.

Oranmiyan was sent on several occasions as War machinery to different places including Benin before he founded the Oyo Empire.

The Oyo Empire became bigger than his ancestral home of Ile- Ife and so when he was called to rule in Ile-Ife, he turned it down.

He asked that somebody be selected to rule from amongst the people and instead of the Oni title, Ooni should be given to the new king.

Oni means you own while Ooni means means you don't own. You are just a guide and guardian of the throne in the abscence of the real owner

This is part of the conflict between Ife and Modakeke. It is a battle of you are not our true leader and so we can't succumb to your rule.

Eleko of Eko is from the lineage of Oranmiyan whose Great Grandchild was sent to wade into the battle of Eko from Benin.

The Eleko of Eko can lay claim to the throne of Ife as the real owners of the throne through Oranmiyan.

Don't forget the Oyo Empire spread through from Nigeria into the Ashanti territory of Ghana and even the Benin republic.

Oranmiyan couldn't sacrifice dat for d seat of power in Ife & couldn't bring Ife under his Empire due to conflicts and ancestral divination.

This is why the Alaafin till date will never succumb to the Ooni. Invasion of the whites and treaty signing gave the Ooni powers dan he owns

Civilization has put square peg in a round hole and pulling out the peg has become very difficult & wealth has been traded 4 d real history

The question now is who will rewrite the History and tell the real truth without fears and money influence. Who will liberate us . naij
