Funke Akindele and her husband, AbdulRasheed Bello, have unveiled what can be called a family business in the name of SOP Records, a record label that already has some artistes on the table.
The unveiling is part of the programmes marking Bello’s 40th birthday.
According to a statement, some of the artistes are Mo Eazy, Gemstones, Sonorous and Martinfeelz.
The statement says, “GemStones are female twins – Awa- Agwu Uzoma Ruby and Awa- Agwu Olanma Pearl – who sing Afro RnB. After graduating in 2015, they auditioned for the MTN Project Fame Music Competition, season 8.0 and were both selected to be in the Reality TV show, with Pearl coming out First Runner-Up and working with Yemi Alade and Chidinma to release songs, Whatever you Do and Kedike remix.”
It adds that Pearl went on to release her own single, Kuro in 2016.
“Mo Eazy, whose real name is Moses Agboola, was born in Kano but moved to UK where he honed his music skills in the church. Mo Eazy has a single, Red Carpet, and has performed with industry heavyweights in UK and Nigeria while he has received several awards and nominations.
Martinsfeelz (Olawale Ayoeji Martins) and Sonorous (Omokanye Olasunkanmi Muhammed) both hail from Ilorin, Kwara State. punch
