A rising Nigerian-born international artiste and daughter of former Minister of Defence and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Chief Demola Seriki, Faridah Demola Seriki better known as Kah-Lo, has been nominated for the 2017 Grammy Awards.
Kah-Lo, an alumna of Hofstra Journalism in the United States of America, was nominated for Best Dance Recording “Rinse n Repeat” – Riton featuring Kah-Lo.
Billboard.com had on Tuesday released the 2017 Grammy nominations for the Awards Ceremony which would hold on February 12, 2017 and would be aired live on CBS.
The song ‘Rinse and repeat’ was released in 2016.
The excited singer took to her Instagram official account to share a photo of the nomination with the caption: “Oluwa did it! Riton has all the swag sauce. “
‘Rinse & Repeat’ has been streamed 5 million times on Spotify and played 1.5 million times on YouTube less than a month after its release.
She is the second Nigerian nominated for the award following that of Wizkid in the Rap album of the year for his contribution in Drake’s ‘Views’ album.
Beyonce has a total of nine nominations, followed by Drake with eight nominations and Rihanna who also bagged eight nominations.vangurad
