Makinwa's estranged husband, Maje Ayida, in a recent interview opens up
on his split, his marriage to Toke Makinwa and more.

Interviewed by Thelca Wilkie, Maje talks about how his relationship with Toke Makinwa played out in the media, fatherhood and how it affected his work.
According to him, he 'had a dramatic year following his marriage saga which affected his work'.
"A couple of the big brands I work with got a bit spooked. You know.. Business wasn't exactly kicking."
Speaking about the lessons he learnt following their highly publicised breakup, "I
learnt that I do good work. People can be vicious and judgemental. They
know nothing about you and your story. But it's fine. She's a great
person, absolutely amazing. She's going to keep flying, she's going to
soar."

Maje also confirmed his fathering a child with mistress, Anita Solomon, "Yes, I am a new father."
Recall that Toke Makinwa in her divorce suit filed against Maje Ayida accused him of “adultery”, "abandonment" and “cruelty”.
According
to her, Maje had repeatedly sent text messages to Anita Solomon
inviting her to live with him. Maje claimed to not have money to take
care of her and pay their bills, but was able to pay for Anita’s upkeep
and travel expenses to the UK to have their baby.
