Bowler Hats Bash invite

Authoritative news reaching us has it that scarcity of hat has hit Lagos and its environs due to the mad rush for hats ahead of this year’s Bowler Hats Bash (BHB).

The premium show organised by leading online newspaper, Daylight.ng, holds this Saturday, October 1, at the upscale Coliseum Events Centre, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.

Our reporter exclusively gathered that the reason for the scarcity of hats in Lagos and its environs had to do with BHB, which requires all attendees to put on a hat, as the dress code for the evening of comedy, music, dance and more, strictly stipulates.

Some revellers who spoke with our reporter on the condition of anonymity disclosed that it took them days of nonstop search before they could get hats to buy for the show.

“Virtually, all the shops and showrooms that we visited to buy hats said their stocks had run out due to demands from those attending this year’s Bowler Hats Bash. In fact, we were almost giving up when we finally found these ones to buy (showing the hats to this reporter)."

In a separate chat, a Nollywood super star, who does not want her name mentioned, commended the organisers of the unique show for berthing with the fecund idea.

The sexy actress further added that she had already bought her hat, a few months ago, while holidaying abroad.

“I love the show and the concept behind it. It reminded me of my days as an undergraduate, when we attended Jeans Carnival and Black Tie Party. I knew there would be scarcity of hats in Lagos, based on my experience during the maiden edition. I decided to buy my hat alongside that of a dear friend few months ago, during my last trip to the US for holiday. I cannot wait to have fun on October 1”, she gushes. Daylight
