L-R: Jonathan and Akpata |
President
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has commiserated with Governor Adams Oshiomhole and the
people of Edo State on the death yesterday of prominent Nigerian administrator,
educationist and elder statesman, Chief Tayo Akpata.
Jonathan also extended his sincere condolences
to Chief Akpata’s widow, Chief (Mrs.) Olabisi Akpata, his children,
grandchildren and other relatives.
In a statement signed by Presidential
Spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, Jonathan urged
them to take solace in the memory of Chief Akpata’s long, successful and very
fulfilled life in the service of his family, community, state and country.
President
Jonathan believes that Nigeria will greatly miss the astute administrator who
made notable contributions to national development through his outstanding work
in the country’s public and private sectors in various capacities, including
Trustee and Executive Secretary of the defunct Petroleum Trust Fund.
He
prays that God Almighty will give Chief Akpata’s family, friends, associates
and community the fortitude to bear his loss and grant his soul eternal rest.
