Omorede Osifo gets rare honour from Oba of Benin

It was celebrations galore recently when the immediate past Commissioner for Youth and Sport Edo State, Omorede Osifo was bestowed with the Prestigious Royal beard by the Oba of Benin, a few weeks ago. SHOWBIZPLUS learnt she became the youngest woman in Edo history to be given such an honour. The highly respected monarch who hardly gives out titles and royal beards was impressed with the achievements of the female politician and deemed it fit to honour her. 

A self-motivated, detail-oriented and relentless goal-achiever, Lady Omorede Osamede Ekogiawe Osifo is a highly professional individual with a comprehensive experience in governance, international relations, marketing, finance, credit, treasury and mortgage banking with excellent analytical ability bolstered by a considerable knowledge in spreadsheets and investment management.

Born on May 8, 1966, Omorede Osifo is an indefatigable social and gender rights crusader. She is also a thorough bred political Amazon who believes in governance for the common good.
She began her education at Emotan Primary School, Benin City, where she got her primary school education from 1971 to 1976 and then moved to Saint Maria Goretti Girls Grammar School, Benin City, where she had her secondary school education between 1976 and 1982. She also had a stint at Federal Government Girls College, Benin City from 1982 to 1983. Determined to excel and distinguished herself in life, Omorede Osifo proceeded to the University of Benin, Benin City, where she studied and obtained her B.Sc (Hons) in Economics and Statistics between 1983 and 1987 and later capped it with a Masters Degree (M.Sc) in Banking and Finance from the same institution in 1997. In 2005, she proceeded to the prestigious Harvard University, Cambridge, USA where she obtained the Certificate in Innovation in Governance.
