Health Minister, Adewole, Ambode, Other Dignitaries For Nollywood Health And Entertainment Summit 2017

By AZUH AMATUS
All is now set for this year’s edition of the hugely applauded annual Nollywood Health And Entertainment Summit (NHAES) 2017, holding massively and elaborately on Saturday, October 28, at the Conference/Banquet Hall of the prestigious National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
Speaking recently at a well attended world press conference, the founder and national president of NHAES, Mr. Victor Osuagwu, gave more insights about what to expect at the forthcoming event.
Thank you for honouring us with your presence today. The aim of this world press conference is to intimate you with our plans and activities for the forthcoming Nollywood Health and Entertainment Summit 2017, holding on Saturday, October 28, at the Conference/Banquet Hall of the prestigious National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
The honourable minister of health, Prof. Isaac Adewole is the special guest of honour at this historic event and he has assured us of his esteemed presence.
Also, the Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode is coming as our chief host.
We are equally expecting several dignitaries from different walks of life. And we are ready to welcome and entertain all of them at the event” elated Osuagwu stated.
Shedding more light, Osuagwu, an accomplished actor and seasoned entertainer, disclosed that NHAES is an annual event that brings together popular Nollywood actors, celebrities, stakeholders in the health and wellness sectors, NGOs and the general public for health awareness and sensitization.
With a very carefully selected 2017 theme of LIVE TO REAP (Fight Against Cancer) in line with WHO 2017 Theme – Breast Cancer, this grand event, according to Osuagwu promises to be huge, memorable, rewarding, exciting, refreshing, reinvigorating, splendid and star-studded.
He also appealed to Nigerians, especially those who cherish their health not to miss the summit, adding that over 1000 guests and celebrities are expected.
Osuagwu, a theatre arts graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, maintained that the core objectives of NHAES include the following:
“At NHAES, we strive to create awareness on health issues and diseases prevalent in our society as well as the preventive measures and proper information on how to access medical care.
To bring in artistes and Nollywood celebrities to act as advocates or ambassadors to promote health care awareness.
To engage and assist the participants of the summit with free medical check up, which will be beneficial to their health.
To create access to health care insurance professionals on health insurance packages available.
Again, this kind of initiative will help mitigate the way we usually go public to appeal for funds for our ailing colleagues and celebrities.
Such situations could be avoided with proper education on health care and health related issues,” he posited amid applause.
Interestingly, this historic event coming up on October 28, won’t be attended by only Nollywood practitioners.
Osuagwu, the immediate past chairman of the Lagos State Actors Guild, said they would be reaching out to the larger society, especially decision makers in the polity.
“We need their helping hands and loud voices to make this summit very successful.
Therefore, we are inviting and reaching out to government and top government officials and agencies.
Also on our radar are NGOs and stakeholders in the health sectors.
Members and partners of relevant health care societies.
Even health insurance companies and fitness and aerobics experts are invited alongside celebrities and the general public.
And of course, interested sponsors, corporate bodies, funding partners and foreign collaborators are all expected to grace this historic summit that is now the talk of the town,” he emphasised.
Amazingly, as part of the many activities heralding this great event, NHAES will be having a Walk For Life road show on Thursday, October 26.
“This milestone walk/exercise will be done in partnership with the Actors Guild of Nigeria, other guilds in Nollywood and our partners in the health sector. Let us not forget the age long maxim that: Health Is Wealth.
Let it constantly guard and guide us every day, because it is only when we are alive and healthy that we can think of our jobs, wealth and other good things of life.
As our partners in progress, we plead that you help us give this event a massive reportage and coverage in your revered and celebrated media houses. God bless you all till we see again on October 28, visibly excited Osuagwu enthused amid another round of applause.
