The Nigerian pop singer has added his name to the few Nigerians in the Guinness book of world record after his collaboration record with Drake, "One Dance" became the most streamed song on Spotify globally. Wizkid played a vital role in the creation of the record.
Nigeria’s name was first put on the list in 2006 after Kafayat Shafau (Kaffy) got the record for longest dance in the world. After this, Harrison Chinedu, Chidra Annemega and Obi Ajuanumo also earned records for different feats.
Drake's “Views” was streamed 2.6 billion times on Spotify in 2016. Released in April 2016, the LP's most popular tracks include "Controlla", "Too Good" (feat. Rihanna) and "One Dance" (feat. Wizkid & Kyla), the most streamed track in Spotify's history (1.1 billion) as of 26 April 2017.
The success of “Views” and ‘One Dance’ set Wizkid up for his international career which has led to the release of his debut Sony project, “Sounds From The Other Side.”
“Sounds From The Other Side,” the highly anticipated global release from Nigerian singer/songwriter Wizkid was made available via Starboy/RCA Records/Sony Music International. The project features collaborations with Drake, Major Lazer, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Trey Songz and Bucie, along with production by Sarz, Diplo, Picard Brothers, Spellz, DJ Mustard and more.
