The decision to begin the boycott was unanimously ratified by the hundreds of COSON members who thronged Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja recently for the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting of COSON at which a royalty distribution of N90 million to musicians in the country was approved.

Wike, who immediately gave his acceptance speech after the result of the primary, polled 1,083 votes, while Dumbari Dimkpa came a distant second with 21 votes.

A South African court cleared British businessman, Shrien Dewani, on Monday of charges that he paid hit men to kill his wife, while they were on honeymoon in Cape Town four years ago.

State prosecutors had argued that Dewani paid 15,000 Rand ($1,300) in a plot with taxi driver Zola Tongo and others to kidnap and murder his wife, Anni, in November 2010, charges he has consistently denied.

The third edition of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) kicks into another gear as nominees will be announced on Wednesday, December 10 2014.
