Plateau State boils again as Fulani gunmen kill 30, burn houses

As usual, tragedy struck again in embattled governor Jonah Jang's State, Plateau, yesterday as no fewer than 30 innocent and defenceless citizens were reportedly killed and 25 others injured when heartless gunmen suspected to be Fulani  herdsmen attacked Shonong village in Riyom Local Government Area.
The murderers also burnt and destroyed over 40 houses alongside valuable items. They also killed domestic animals belonging to the villagers and took some away. An eyewitness, who was also a victim, disclosed that the attackers stormed the village in their hundreds when most of the villagers had gone to their farms and killed mostly children, women and the aged. The Majority Leader of the Plateau State House of Assembly, representing Riyom Constituency, Daniel Dem, who confirmed the killing, also blamed the Special Task Force (STF).
"If the military men are there in the village and the attack took place at about 8.a.m., and lasted till afternoon, then the military men have so many questions to answer."
