Ikwerre youths commended for protesting massively against embattled Governor Amaechi

Anti Amaechi protesters in PH
The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has commended the youths of Ubima, home town of Governor Rotimi Amaechi and other youths of Ikwerre extraction who in their thousands took to major streets of the State capital, protesting against Amaechi’s unfair and inefficient conduct of the affairs of the state.

PDP in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the State Chairman on Media, Jerry Needam declared their action as heroism, against Governor Amaechi’s intimidation authoritarian style of government.
Thousands of youths from Ubima, home town of Governor Rotimi Amaechi and the four Ikwerre speaking Local Government Areas namely Ikwerre, Emuoha, Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt staged a peaceful protest on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in support of the Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mbu, President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The protesters who are indeed of Ikwerre extraction and Governor Rotimi Amaechi also an Ikwerre man are becoming ashamed of an Ikwerreman (Gov. Rotimi Amaechi) trying to grow a political clout that is above the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Ikwerre youths deserve special appreciation for this bold step, the PDP said.
“Courtesy of Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Rivers State is a state where liberty reigns no more. True democracy is not practiced.” PDP said.
“Our Monarchs, religious and traditional leaders are disrespected under governor Amaechi. The bold step taken by the Ikwerre youths is commendable. Ikwerre youths have refused to be bought by Governor Rotimi Amaechi using tax payers’ money and the Sure-P as baits,” the PDP revealed.
PDP urges all youths in Rivers state to reject Amaechi and embrace the Reformation Agenda of President Goodluck and the Party.

thank God Mbu is not on Amaechi's side. he would have used the police to deal with those protesters.
