8 of 40 Nigeria Got Talent finalists emerge

On Sunday night, the first eight acts that would comprise the top 40 contestants were displayed at the seventh episode of Nigeria Got Talent (NGT) Season two.

Backstage before the competition commenced, the air was charged with activities as the contestants prepared themselves for their various acts. Hosted by Andre Blaze, this season of the NGT reality show has brought contestants from major states across Nigeria including Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan, Asaba, Benin and Enugu.

One of the contestants, Onanuga Tope, also known as Ismail Ayanfe, strongly believes that he will impress the judges with his type of music. According to him, he has played at various weddings, wedding ceremonies, birthday parties and other social events. He was told about Nigeria’s Got Talent by a friend who urged him to participate in the competition.

Ismail Ayanfe says he is grateful to Malta Guinness for being a part of making his dreams come true, and he is happy with himself. In his words ‘don’t be shy about whatever talent you have, display it so others will appreciate you’’

Other contestants at this week’s show include, MAD-X a dance group from Calabar, Thrillers another dance group, The Genesis a music quadruplet and Laff Doctor, a comedian.

Malta Guinness Brand Manager Wole Adedeji described the journey to the Top 40 stage as riveting, filled with both pleasant and unexpected surprises. “We are glad to be inspiring talented Nigerians. We urge viewers to not only support these contestants’ dreams with cheers but to vote for them as that is the surest way to see your favourite contestant to the end of the competition,” he said.

Nigeria Got Talent season 2 is part of the global Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent franchise. It is a talent show that aims to feature singers, dancers, magicians, comedians, and other performers of all ages competing for the advertised top prize of N10,000,000 (Ten million naira).
