Immensely talented actor turned movie and soap director Tope Idowu is quietly and steadily getting set for a new and tantalizing TV series, which promises to be engaging, entertaining and didactic.
Entitled Wives and Concubines, Idowu, who revealed that the work would hit the airwaves soon, further added that its also a complete satire laced with gripping social comment, which takes a critical look at the games wives and mistresses play to hold on to their turbulent relationships.
“The series seeks to engender a positive change in the emotional strain between couples under pressures from extra-marital affairs. Its also a family oriented programme primarily targeted at adults and couples who constitute the bulk of the working class population in Nigeria,” hinted an insider.
Another reliable source, who is also a crew member, revealed that the series is going to be a fast paced romantic thriller based on the intriguing stories of two women, as they battle the souls of their troubled marriages from the whims and schemes of two desperate mistresses.
Dove Media in collaboration with Teewai Gold productions limited are behind the forthcoming series.
