Kanye West is $53 million in debt and definitely cut corners with his recent fashion show — he didn’t even hire models from a reputable agency! Find out how low their pay was.
Kanye West paid models at his Yeezy fashion show a measly $150. To save money, the models weren’t cast from a modeling agency, but rather were hired from a company that casts extras for movies and commercials, an insider told Radar.
The models at the fashion show “were absolutely miserable,” a source tells Radar. “It was freezing inside the arena prior to the show starting. Most of the models weren’t wearing a lot, and couldn’t layer.” The temperature outside was frigid that day with temperatures only rising to 41 degrees.
The rapper’s strange demands during his controversial Yeezy 3 fashion show were revealed after a model Snapchatted a possible requirements list from the event, the Daily Mail reported. The outlandish instructions included statements like “No eye contact!” and “No sexy posing!”
Kanye was furious the list was made public and “wanted to know which model had leaked it! He wanted the clothes to be the focus, and nothing else,” a source told Radar.
The 1,500 models were “fed and provided with meal breaks. It was a long grueling day,” the insider added.
The models were reportedly required to sign a non-disclosure agreement, prohibiting anyone from discussing the show or Kanye West. If anyone violated the agreement, Kanye could sue for $10 million.
The models were primarily African American, with audience members being mostly white. “It was very uncomfortable and felt very tense,” our source revealed.
West recently revealed he was $53 million in debt, partially because of the fashion line with Adidas.Attending the show, however, was not cheap! Tickets for the fashion show were sold for as much as $100.

The fashion show was described as an art installation, and Kanye said 20,000 were in attendance at the Garden to witness Yeezy Season 3.
