Project Capable lures youths

This definitely cheering news to youths, especially those with adventurous instincts and traits, Rubies Ink, the new darling of wannabe role models in the entertainment sector, recently unveiled its new project. Primarily targeted towards pupils in Nigerian secondary schools, the new empowerment programme is tagged: “Project Capable.”
According to the promoters, Project Capable, is a youth oriented entertainment and social support initiative. It is also a special mentorship exercise that will bring Nigerian star actors, actresses, musicians, DJs and comedians, especially those that can be referred to as an epitome of success in their various fields, to inspire young Nigerians of secondary school ages to strive for success along the path of progressive principles.
No doubt, the challenging state of the Nigerian economy and the ruptured value system of the general society had led many adolescents and youths to embrace misleading notions. However, the project is geared towards building self-confidence and self-determination in the lives of young adolescents, whose self-defeatism, under achievements and other social vices have become their second skin.
Project Capable is billed to commence in Lagos and later move to other parts of Nigeria with a consistent message of positive self-help, hope and effective social change.
Students of secondary schools will assemble before celebrities like Koffi, Jimmy Jatt, Kate Henshaw, Ofunneka, Funke Akindele, Sound Sultan, Freeze and several others to receive rich and inspiring words of advice and encouragement.
The event begins on October 22, 2009, at the In door Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, at 10.am, with an estimated attendance of over 3000 senior secondary school students, they will be selected randomly from different local government areas of their respective schools, Admission is free.
Project Capable other objective includes: raising competent and productive future leaders for the emergence of a better Nigeria.
The national project coordinator, Esther Enitan Ijewere, a graduate of Sociology from the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, has over seven years experience in events planning and management. Other team members of Project Capable are: Michelle Inegbese, Lara Oyekan, Femi Omoyeni, Seun Oluyemi and a host of others.
