In what has been alleged to be an insider’s work, some armed robbers recently attacked a United Bank for Africa (UBA) cash-laden bullion van at Elemoso village along Ondo-Akure Road in the Ondo East Local Government Area of the state, injuring mny.

The robbers were said to have looted the bullion van and escaped with undisclosed amount of customers’ money running into several millions of Naira.

Daylight gathered that the bullion van and the escort vehicle were found ridden with bullets in the incident which was said to have occurred at about 4.50pm, while the robbers made away with the cash with so much ease.

A reliable source further told Daylightng that policemen that escorted the bullion van were caught unawares after the armed robbers rained bullets on the police escort vehicle and the bullion van simultaneously.

Murder at the Synagogue: South Africa receives corpses...Shuns Joshua

The South African government on Saturday began the repatriation of the bodies of its citizens killed in the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Lagos building collapse.

Eighty-one South Africans were confirmed killed in a guest house owned by the church of popular televangelist, Temitope Joshua, on September 12.

The bodies were removed from Isolo General Hospital and Mainland Hospital, Yaba in Lagos State.

Copyright war: How federal high court sealed MCSN’s fate

Any hope of the unapproved Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) that it will be allowed to operate legally in Nigeria as a copyright Collective Management Organization (CMO) has been buried by the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.

In a landmark ruling by Hon Justice O.E. Abang on October 24, 2014, the court threw out the case filed by MCSN in which it had sought an order of the Federal High Court restraining Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) from parading itself as Nigeria’s sole collective management organization for musical works and sound recordings.

2015 AFCON: Equatorial Guinea replaces Morocco as host nation

Equatorial Guinea will host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have confirmed.
Morocco had originally been set to host the tournament, but then asked for it to be delayed due to fears over the spread of the Ebola virus, which has claimed over 5,000 lives across Africa.
CAF rejected that request and subsequently stripped Morocco of the tournament, as well as ejecting their national team from the competition, and has now awarded the tournament to Equatorial Guinea.

Shame: UK jails Nigerian couple for money laundering, human trafficking

A United Kingdom court has finally sentenced two Nigerians for human trafficking, sexual exploitation and money laundering offences.

A statement from the Office of the British High Commission in Abuja said they were jailed for eight and two years respectively, following a Home Office investigation into the trafficking of Nigerian women into the UK for sexual exploitation.

Lizzy Idahosa, 24, was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on November 7, after being found guilty last month of trafficking women to and around the UK, inciting prostitution and money laundering.

A heartless 32-year-old mason, Terkula Iorpuur, of Behind Hemko Hospital, Kanshio, was on Thursday remanded in prison by a Makurdi Magistrates’ Court for allegedly raping two sisters severally.

Iorpuur is charged with rape punishable under Section 284 of the Penal Code.

The prosecutor, Terzungwe Kajo, told the court that the uncle of the victims reported the matter at ‘B’ Division Police Station, Makurdi, on October 6.

Kajo said the victims’ mother complained that the two children, aged eight and six years respectively, were not walking properly.

Pains, traffic on the roads of Yenagoa as Jonathan’s wife’s visits
