Tukur |
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP had been seriously divided over the leadership of Tukur and had called for his resignation for sometimes now.
Sensing danger in the air, Tukur was said to have resigned from his position as the National Chairman of the PDP on Wednesday and avoided being suspended by the NWC of the party.
Tukur had been suspended by about eight members of the NWC, while the National Executive Committee (NEC) is expected to meet on Thursday to ratify the suspension, but Tukur has quickly resigned to avoid such embarrassment.
It was gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan has been briefed about the matter and would officially disclosed it to national caucus of the party today.
