Exposed: Why Wizkid dumped EME, Banky W

L-R: Wizkid and Banky when the going was good

It is no longer news that controversial Nigerian singer Wizkid has officially dumped Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), after a stormy five years with the Banky W led music label. What is perhaps news is the intrigues surrounding the exit of the youthful star from the label that changed his destiny over night.
SHOWBIZPLUSng reliably gathered that the act decided to move on with his life and career having had enough of Banky’s over bearing attitude, suffocation and high handedness.
“Wizboy is no longer happy with the way Banky and the management of EME are treating him. He is also not happy with the new sharing formula designed by the management. These and a whole lot of other issues are the reasons he decided to dump EME and Banky to move on with his career and life.

Remember, the last time he left, they pleaded and brought him back promising to look into his many grouses. But they never did. And now I can assure that he has left them for good and there is no going back,” hinted this insider.
Wizkid signed a record deal with Banky W's EME in 2009 before rising to prominence with the release of the songs "Holla at Your Boy" and "Tease Me/Bad Guys" in 2010. The release of his debut album, Superstar in 2011 announced him to the world and made him a bonafide star.
Wizkid briefly left the label in 2013 due to some contractual disputes which led to him moving out of the E.M.E mansion in Lagos to acquire his own home in the Lekki Phase 1 area. He floated his own label, Star Boy Entertainment before returning back to EME after agreeing an EME/Star Boy joint deal with Banky W.
But after releasing his sophomore Ayo (Joy) a couple of weeks ago, Wizkid has finally dumped the label that nurtured him into stardom.
Another insider hinted that the friendship, but personal and business between both parties had broken down irretrievably and the centre could no longer hold, hence the falling apart between Wizkid and EME/Banky W.
