Excitement as Glo launches high end product

  Glo is promising exciting times for customers as the company prepares to launch a unique product, which offers mouth- watering benefits to its premium subscribers.

Globacom in a statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng,  stated that the new product, called Glo Prive, will accord premium recognition and offer special privileges to high value subscribers on the Glo network.

Celebrations as Glo overtakes Airtel, now occupies No 2 position

National telecommunications operator, Globacom, has moved to the position of the second largest mobile service provider in the country beating Airtel to the third place.‎

According to figures just published by industry regulator, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on its website, Glo had 27,327,646 subscribers on its network as at the end of June, 2014. 

A statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng stated that the figure translates to 21% share of the Nigerian telecoms market, and places Glo second to MTN which has 56,516,759, thus calling for celebration and jubilation by the management and staff of the Mike Adenuga led telecoms giant.

A cross section of owners of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) have expressed enthusiasm over the launch of Glo Xchange, declaring that the mobile money super agent network is another huge income stream for their business.   

At the town hall meetings held in Ibadan, Benin, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ikeja and  Lekki in Lagos recently, the SME owners who turned up to register as Glo Xchange agents, praised Globacom for the elaborate platform which is aimed at deepening financial inclusion and promoting Nigeria’s electronic payment system.

The “Entertainment Pillar of the Decade” award given to Globacom Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga, Jr (GCON), by Entertainment Express newspaper  at its recently held Express Star Awards (ESA) has drawn reactions from several entertainment icons.

According to a signed statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng, popular singing duo, PSquare, Jude Abaga popularly called Mr Incredible (M.I), Omawumi, and others said that the honour, which was the highest of the awards conferred on individuals and corporate bodies during the third anniversary of leading entertainment publication, Entertainment Express and Sunday Express, would encourage Adenuga and other well meaning Africans to do more for the entertainment sector.

Lagos stands still as leading entertainers thrilled at ESA 2014

As already anticipated, the bubbly city of Lagos was completely shut down on Sunday, July 27, when the maiden edition of Express Star Awards (ESA) held amid glitz, glamour and grandeur with A-List entertainers, celebrities and leading Nigerians from different walks of life in attendance.

The well-attended event that was celebrated alongside the third anniversary of the nation’s hottest and most sought after tabloids, Entertainment Express and Sunday Express was graciously and professionally anchored by leading Nollywood actor and voice over guru, Segun Arinze.

In fact, not even the heavy downpour that lasted for over two hours could stop celebrities and other invited guests from trooping into upscale Coliseum Events Centre, venue of the double celebrations, situated in the heart of Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.

The over-subscribed event that saw elated guests and fans of EE/SE coming from all parts of the country, officially kicked off with the black carpet/cocktail sessions at exactly 5.p.m.
