The “Entertainment Pillar of the Decade” award given to Globacom Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga, Jr (GCON), by Entertainment Express newspaper  at its recently held Express Star Awards (ESA) has drawn reactions from several entertainment icons.

According to a signed statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng, popular singing duo, PSquare, Jude Abaga popularly called Mr Incredible (M.I), Omawumi, and others said that the honour, which was the highest of the awards conferred on individuals and corporate bodies during the third anniversary of leading entertainment publication, Entertainment Express and Sunday Express, would encourage Adenuga and other well meaning Africans to do more for the entertainment sector.

Globacom Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr. (GCON), has been given the award of the ‘Entertainment Pillar of the Decade’ in recognition of his immense contributions to the entertainment industry in Nigeria in the last 10 years.

The award, according to a statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng from Glo's PR Unit, was given by Nigeria’s foremost entertainment-focused publications, Entertainment Express and Sunday Express. It was the highest of a number of awards conferred on individuals and corporate bodies by the publications as part of activities marking their third anniversary.

Globacom, Nigeria’s National Telecom Carrier, was also recognized as the ‘Brand Supporter of Entertainment in Nigeria’ at the grand ceremony graced by the crème de la crème of Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
