Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift |
Nicki Minaj just might have ignited a Twitter feud!
The rapper took to the social media site to complain about only getting three nominations for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, and managed to seemingly slam Taylor Swift in the process.
After Minaj's "Anaconda" didn’t get nominated for Video of the Year, she claimed if she were a "different kind of artist," her video would have received those accolades.
"If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year," she tweeted, referring to T.Swift's "Bad Blood" video, which features famous friends Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Zendaya and more.
While Nicki doesn't call out Taylor directly, the only other female in the category is her close pal, Beyonce. The ladies are up against Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson and Kendrick Lamar.
Based on this list, it's safe to assume she's talking about the "Blank Space" singer.
"Oh but trust me. I'll be on that stage to collect my awards for vid of the year. Feeling Myself & Anaconda," she wrote.
"QueenBey hit me about Anaconda after the IG snippet was released saying how much she loved it. She was also VERY hands on w/FeelingMyself," she added.
But the drama didn't stop there -- Taylor took to Twitter to defend herself and call out Nicki for her harsh words.
"@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot," she tweeted.
"Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But should speak on this. @taylorswift13," Minaj responded.
