Adi Lederman, who appeared on Israel's top TV song competition, admits
hacking into computers owned by the singer's associates.
Adi Lederman, who once auditioned for Israel's top TV song competition, A Star Is Born, admitted to hacking into the computers of people linked to Madonna and copying her records.
Madonna took to Instagram late last year to urge fans not to listen to unreleased songs stolen from her latest album Rebel Heart, which were leaked online.
"I have been violated as a human and an artist," she wrote.
Madonna's representative in Israel lodged a complaint to local authorities, prompting the investigation into Lederman's activities.
The investigation was coordinated with the FBI.
Lederman, a Tel Aviv resident in his late 30s, was also fined 15,000 shekels, (£2,575).
The court said it hoped the "appropriate" sentence would act as a deterrent to others.
The aspiring singer gained notoriety in Israel after appearing on the reality show in 2012.
When asked by one of the show's judges what he does for a living, he responded: "Mainly wasting my life away, it seems, because I'm told that I should be on stage."
