This is another Daylight.ng
exclusive. The Lagos based building firm that built the multi million Naira
Lekki home belonging to the Uche brothers-Kalu and Ikechukwu is threatening to
institute a legal action against them over an alleged breach of agreement.
Daylight.ng gathered that the
firm, along with its Managing Director are seeking for an order of a Lagos High
Court compelling the former Super Eagles stars to pay them N100 million as
professional fees and damages after owing them for several years.
According to a source who
does not want to be named in print, the suit being prepared by a popular Lagos
based lawyer is still in process and would be served soon.
“Though there was a
retention fee clause between the Uche’s and their client but that should not be
an excuse for withholding his money which is supposed to be the balance of the
job he did. If they had noticed anything wrong in the house they should have
called him as the contractor to rectify it instead of pocketing his money with
flimsy excuses. That is very unfair.
“The firm has done
everything within its power to get the money paid and all its effort proved
fruitless; so it has no choice but to resolve the matter in the court of
law. These guys think because they are popular football stars they can do
whatever they like and get away with it . That is arrant nonsense,’’ fumed the
source.
Super rich Kalu and his
younger brother believed to be among the top five richest Nigerian footballers
own a mansion in Aba, Abia State as well as a five star hotel among other
investments. They also own several properties in Spain. Their estimated cash
and assets are said to worth over 2.5 billion Naira. All efforts made to reach
them for reactions before filing this report, proved abortive.
