Jonathan nominates Shekarau, Adeyeye, two others for ministerial appointments

President Goodluck Jonathan, today, Wednesday, submitted the name of the former governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau and a former senator from Ekiti state, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye for ministerial appointments.
SHOWBIZPLUSng checks revealed that also on the list as ministerial nominees which was forwarded to the Senate for confirmation and read by the Senate President, Senator David Mark during plenary were Dr. Abdul Bulama from Yobe State and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, South-South zonal Vice-Chairman, Dr. Stephen Oruh.
The letter forwarded by President Jonathan to the senate through the Senate president with the heading, Confirmation of ministerial nominees read thus, “In accordance with Section 147 subsection 2 of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, I have the honour to forward the under listed ministerial nominees for consideration for senate confirmation.

“Dr. Abdul Bulama, Yobe state, Dr. Stephen Oruh Delta State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau Kano State, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye, Ekiti State.
“It is my hope that this exercise will receive the usual kind expeditious consideration of the distinguished members of the senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The President also attached the Curriculum vitae of the nominees in the letter.
As the Senate President read the letter, the name of the former governor of Kano State Mallam Shekarau who recently dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the ruling PDP caused some uproar as some senators murmured over his nomination.
It was gathered that three out of the four ministerial nominees will fill the gap created by the exit of the former minister of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Elder Godsday Orubebe (Delta), the minister of Police Affairs, Caleb Olubolade (Ekiti), and minister of state for finance, Yerima Ngama (Yobe).
