Excitement as over N22m won at RCGG Apapa Family’s God’s Children’s Got Talent

Dancing duo, Egere Great  and Ekeh Samuel on Saturday were among the winners of up to N22m in prize money at the grand finale of RCGG Apapa family’s God’s Children Got Talent, this was contained in a press statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng by the organizers. Great and Samule won in the ages 16-19 categories of the competition. Other age categories included ages five to ages 19.
God’s Children’s Got Talent, a programme organized by the Apapa family of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Province, has  over the past six months conducted several  auditions, quarter and semi finals in over 1000 parishes in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States in order to get to the grand finale.

At a world class event, held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, up to 6,000 attendees comprising sponsors, media partners and families watched 50 performances before a panel of five judges decided the winners. The scope of talents judged included musical instruments, drawing, singing and dancing.

Presenting the final prize to the dancing duo, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade; Head of Apapa family explained that the mission of the project is to provide a credible platform for the celebration of talent in God’s children. In his words; “God’s children’s got talent was born out of a desire to identify and nurture the diverse talents available in children across the Province”. “We are delighted that multinational brands such as Cadbury, first bank, first Trustees and others have identified with this project”.

The event which had ministrations from popular Gospel act Frank Edwards and singing sensation Nneka also had foremost music and media personalities as judges.



Judges at the grand finale included Joke Silva, Sir Emeka Nwokedi Director of the Muson centre, Wole Oni, Nikki Laoye and  Femi, the creative Director of the spirit of David Dance Group.

Other sponsors of  the 2014 edition includes RCCG, City of David, Wise men apparel, Dove media, The Riverbank School, Digital Jewels, Access Bank ,Stanbic IBTC Asset Management and many others.





Pastor Iluyomade further said ‘‘two major differentiators of the 2014 edition of God’s children’s got talent is scope of coverage, as season four of GCGT had other UK and US based  RCCG Apapa parishes participating. Asides the cash prizes, educational trust and talent development packages and musical equipments are also part of the prize wins.
