More troubles for Sanusi as violent protesters set Kano on fire over his appointment as emir

Sanusi

Thousands of irate youths staged a violent protest on Sunday evening in Kano following the controversial announcement of embattled and suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Alhaji Sunusi Lamido Sunusi, as the new emir of Kano State.
SHOWBIZPLUSng gathered that the protesters who were carrying leafs, sticks and some dangerous weapons were chanting war songs demanding a reverse of Lamido’s choice.

Barely five minutes the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Rabiu Suleiman Bichi announced the emir designate, youths in their thousands took over major streets protesting against the choice, which many of them said was political and forcefully imposed on them.
Loud chorus of “ Bamaso Bamaso” which means “we don’t want” rented the air around the emir’s palace and environs as motorists scamper for safety during the ensuing pandemonium.
