Exposed: Why Nigeria crashed out of AFCON 2015
It is no longer news that African champions Nigeria crashed out of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday after playing a 2-2 draw with Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Uyo. What is perhaps news, is the shameful way and manner the Eagles led by embattled Stephen Keshi crashed out.
Two goals each from Tokelo Rantie and Sone Aluko
in the 43rd, 48th, 67th and 90th minutes respectively, ensured that Nigeria
will not be in Equatorial Guinea to defend the title, which they won in 2013
after finishing third in Group A with eight points.

Morocco had originally been set to host the tournament, but then asked for it to be delayed due to fears over the spread of the Ebola virus, which has claimed over 5,000 lives across Africa.
CAF rejected that request and subsequently stripped Morocco of the tournament, as well as ejecting their national team from the competition, and has now awarded the tournament to Equatorial Guinea.

Finally: Keshi dumps Eagles

| Keshi |
Former Super Eagles Head Coach,
Stephen Keshi has ended his romance with the team following the failure of the
crisis ridden Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to improve on his first
contract.
Keshi’s contract expired after the
team sojourn at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil ended with a 2-0 loss to France in
the second round.
After the tournament, Keshi and the
NFF are yet to reach an agreement for him to continue coaching the Super
Eagles.
The coach disclosed on Brilafm recently that there was no way he would accept the offer the football house
offered him.
According to him, NFF’s failure to
improve on his first contract was an indication that they don’t want him any
more.
