Murder at the Synagogue: Joshua to appear before Collapsed Building Panel Nov. 5

The founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet Temitope Joshua, will on Nov. 5 appear before a coroner’s inquest investigating the recent collapse of its guest house.
The Lagos State Coroner, Mr. Oyetade Komolafe, announced Joshua’s appearance on Friday at the resumption of the inquest at an Ikeja High Court.

Murder at the Synagogue: Death toll hits 80...TB Joshua reluctant to release names of victims

Six days after a five-storey building used as guest house by the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN collapsed, killing scores of persons and injuring several others, the church was yet to produce names of  lodgers in the building.
Although the South African government had Tuesday claimed that 67 of its citizens perished in the collapsed building but rescue operators are faced with the challenge of identifying the nationalities of the dead and survivors, owing to what they alleged as reluctance from SCOAN to produce the names.
Besides, indication emerged that some countries, among which is Australia, have been calling in to ascertain the plight of their citizens feared might be victims.
Death toll now 80
This is as the death toll rose to 80 yesterday with the recovery of additional 17 victims comprising 12 women and five men, with the number of survivors still 131.

Angry and disappointed entertainers have come out to openly condemn and berate Prophet TB Joshua following the recent tragedy that killed hundreds of people when a two storey building that was being raised to six storey collapsed at the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Ikotun, Lagos State.
The building, which collapsed last week belongs to the embattled and controversial preacher from Ondo State. 
 They also castigated TB Joshua for the tragedy, which they said was avoidable. The mourning entertainers also called on the government to sanction the church and its leaders for negligence and waste of innocent lives by shutting it down indefinitely.

$9.3m cash private jet scandal: Group calls for immediate arrest of Oritsejafor

While joining millions of Nigerians in condemning the illegal operation and the suspicious handling of a purported arms purchase, the Buhari Vanguard, has called for the immediate arrest and subsequent prosecution of the president of Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, whose private jet was used to smuggle the sum of $9.3m cash into South Africa for an alleged arms buying deal. The group further alleged that the weaponry was to be purchased for use by terrorists, pirates, and other militants in the Niger Delta. The statement also charged that this move might be a political ploy to malign the 2015 presidential election, given the relationship between Pastor Oritsejafor and President Jonathan.
In a statement obtained by SHOWBIZPLUSng, the Chairman of The Buhari Vanguard, Jasper Azuatalam, demanded that Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor be arrested for his involvement in the South African arms smuggling operation that was foiled, when two Nigerians and an Israeli man were stopped in South African with close to $10million in cash.

South Africa’s president announced Tuesday that 67 of his compatriots were among scores of worshippers killed in the collapse of embattled TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN).
Declaring his nation in grief, Jacob Zuma said he was “greatly saddened to announce that 67 South Africans died and scores of others sustained injuries,” when a church hostel building collapsed in Lagos on Friday.
The tally of South African dead exceeds the previous toll of 62 thought dead in the disaster, a grim signal that the number of fatalities is likely to rise.

The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) the apex body of Nigerian senior journalists, has joined the family of the late Dimgba Igwe and other sympathetic Nigerians to mourn the passage
of the frontline journalist, who died in Lagos on Saturday, September 6.
 Mr. Igwe, 58, a renowned journalist, author,
Fellow of the Guild and Associate Publisher of Entertainment Express and Sunday Express Newspapers, reportedly died of wounds he suffered when
knocked down by a careless and cowardly hit-and-run driver.
 A peaceable gentleman, Mr. Igwe was said to be jogging
near his Okota home at about 10 A.M to keep fit, when the fatal
incident occurred. He later gave up the ghost at the Lagos State
University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where he was rushed to for medical
attention.

 President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan said he has received with shock, the sad news of the untimely death of Mr. Dimgba Igwe, Vice Chairman of the Sun Newspapers and Associate Publisher of Entertainment Express and Sunday Express Newspapers.
 Jonathan on behalf of himself, family and the Federal Government of Nigeria, President Jonathan extended his  heartfelt commiserations to the publishers of the Sun newspapers, the Nigerian Guild of Editors, and all friends and associates of Mr. Igwe, for whom his unexpected death must be exceedingly painful.

Finally: Keshi dumps Eagles

Former Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi has ended his romance with the team following the failure of the crisis ridden Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to improve on his first contract.
Keshi’s contract expired after the team sojourn at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil ended with a 2-0 loss to France in the second round.
After the tournament, Keshi and the NFF are yet to reach an agreement for him to continue coaching the Super Eagles.
The coach disclosed on Brilafm recently that there was no way he would accept the offer the football house offered him.
According to him, NFF’s failure to improve on his first contract was an indication that they don’t want him any more.
