The debate for power shift in the governorship of Imo State has
been re-echoed as a Diaspora-based group, Alliance of Owerri Zone Indigenes in
Diaspora (AOZID) called upon political stakeholders to allow Owerri senatorial
zone produce the next governor in 2015.
In a press release signed by Professor
Edward Oparaoji, Dr. Charlie Nzeakor, and the representatives of the federal
constituencies in the State, the group lamented that Owerri zone has had the
least and incomplete shot at the governorship office of the state, stressing
that 2015 is the time to correct the anomaly.
