As lovers of Big Brother Africa, the biggest reality show on the continent, prepare to be glued to their screens for the next three months, this new season tagged Big Brother Hotshots, has all the ingredients of a blockbuster as the housemates go into the house on September 7, with the sole aim of grabbing the winning prize of USD 300, 000.

Public Relations Manager, DStv, Caroline Oghuma, while disclosing this in a press statement sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng also noted that subscribers have the option of opting out of viewing the programme at any time during its duration. “To do so, all you need to do is to text “NO” and the first 10 digits of your smartcard number to 30333. Regular SMS charges apply.

Big Brother Africa season nine set to take over social media

Every year fans across the continent sit eagerly glued to their screens, social media abuzz; they wait tensely to be razzled and dazzled by their favourite Big Brother Africa housemates.

As the shows fanbase grows, so does the conversation on the social networks. During the eight  season, over six million fans interacted with Big Brother Africa via the Website, Twitter, and Facebook, with the website generating just over 200 million impressions.

“As a voter driven show, the success of the Big Brother Africa brand relies heavily on audience engagement and our social media platforms allow for this to happen in real-time”, says M-Net Africa Regional Director (West Africa) Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, in a chat with SHOWBIZPLUSng.
