Communications Limited is poised to thrill the opposite sex with The 1st Lady
beauty pageant. At a media event to flag off activities, the organizers told
SHOWBIZPLUS that The 1st Lady, is a pageant with a difference that would
provide premium entertainment, cultural enlightenment and brand value.
Speaking at
the event, Tunde Lawrenson, the boss of
X-Media Communications, said 'this is not your regular pageant', in
explaining the concept of the show. Stating that 'it's a project conceptualised
to engender the entrepreneurial spirit in Nigerian women'. The entire project
is broken into three phases that include a Reality Show, Pageant and Awards,
where distinguished Nigerian women are going to be recognized and honoured.
Mr.
Lawrenson further informed that auditions for the reality show would commence
from April 2 and end on May 17, 2014, respectively in the following
cities, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Asaba, Enugu, Aba, Benin, Akure, Ilorin,
Osogbo, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Abuja, Kaduna and Lagos. After which the selected
girls would spend seven weeks in camp for the reality show, going through the
Fattening Room, Academy and the probation and finally to the Pageant where the
winner would emerged.
Prizes up
for grabs according to the organizers is a Mistibushi Jeep and N4 million for
the winner, a Picanto car and N1million for the first runner-up and N500,000
for the second runner-up. Also all the top 10 finalists would get brand
ambassador contracts.
According to
the Chief Reggi Uduhiri, Director Bayswater Industries Limited, makers of Mr.
Chef seasoning, who are powering the project, The 1st Lady ' is one of the
greatest events of our time that would blow the minds of Nigerians. It's a
platform provided for our young women to discover themselves, to pursue their
careers and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit in women.
Adding that
his organization decided to be a part of this project because the 'value the
pageant reflects the same corporate values that the brand Mr. Chef represents'.
The pageant is open to young Nigerian ladies between the ages of 18 and 35. For
