In this special report, we bring you the authentic list of ten most controversial Yoruba actresses and why they enjoy swimming in controversies and scandals.

Funke Akindele
Nollywood femme fatale and producer of award winning movie, Jenifa, Funke Akindele is no doubt one of the most controversial actresses in the industry. The actress whose nine months old marriage to Kenny Oloyede crashed within a twinkle of an eye had the media awash with the news of the alleged marriage break-up between her and her husband. It was alleged that the man sacked her via his Facebook page where he posted it. It was also rumoured that she had secret affairs with some notable men, while still being married to the Oshodi big boy. Truly, Miss Akindele may be rich, famous and widely celebrated, but it seems she enjoys swimming in controversies.
Foluke Daramola
Foluke Daramola was fingered in the crisis leading to the breakup of Kayode Salako and his estranged wife, Pastor Bukola before it finally crashed. Surprisingly, she eventually moved in and later married Salako in an elaborate wedding, despite the many controversies trailing their whirlwind affair.
Before this latest controversy, there was also a story that Daramola was evicted from home by the landlord due to her inability to pay accumulated rent. With all these negative news, the busty entertainer keeps attracting headlines, mostly for the wrong reasons.
Bisi Ibidapo-Obe
Bisi Ibidapo-Obe is not new to controversies. In fact, this beautiful actress has always had one controversy or the other trailing her. Her alleged relationships with Timaya, K1 and several others made headlines not too long ago. And recently her controversial personality took a dive after she announced that Dino Melaye was responsible for her pregnancy.
The tabloid again was filled with tales of Obe and Melaye’s alleged romance-which the ex-federal lawmaker denied. Seven months after she claimed she met the father of her child, she was delivered of a baby girl and was once again in the news when she named the child after Melaye, who till date has refused the paternity of the innocent child.
Tayo Odueke (Sikiratu Sindodo)
Popularly known as Sikiratu Sindodo, a name she got from the movie that launched her into stardom. Her romance with Musiliu Akinsanya also known as MC Oluomo, one of the top shots at the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oshodi, Lagos, which ended prematurely, was well celebrated. While the affair lasted, Oluomo was alleged to have bought a Murano SUV for her and also rented a duplex in Maryland for the light-skin actress.
She was also rumoured to have dated actor and producer, Kunle Afod. Just few months ago, the gist went round town that she was having an affair with the younger brother of Kunle Afolayan, Aremu which she has vehemently denied. She is currently rumoured to be in a sizzling romance with top Fuji artiste, Malaika.
Fathia Balogun
Fathia, the estranged wife of top Nollywood actor, Saidi Balogun, is surely not free from scandals in the industry. The story of her crashed marriage is still generating headlines within and outside Nollywood. She was once rumoured to have fought a female colleague in the movie industry over a young Ibadan politician, Rotimi Ajanaku, whom she accused of snatching her man.
She was once reported to be in sizzling romance with the boss of Corporate Pictures, Abdulrasaq. The affair almost destroyed the marriage of the top marketer.
Lola Alao
Alao’s name was severally mentioned in the ugly drama involving her ex good friend, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dino Melaye, during the Melaye/Obe paternity war. Unapologetic Alao, while reacting said she was wrongly accused and implicated in the matter.
Before the paternity dance of shame, there was the issue of her estranged husband, who painted her bad and said she was diabolical on the pages of newspapers. But the controversial thespian in a recent interview said she doesn’t bear grudges against anyone. She also denied being controversial and troublesome.
Laide Bakare
Laide Bakare’s story is more like a movie. The recent news of Bakare’s child delivery for the new man in her life publicly pitched her against her ex. In fact, the very bitter estranged hubby told the world that the actress cheated on him severally while they were still married. It was a news many of her fans were not expecting at the time it came. The reason for that was because only few weeks before then, precisely in early May 2013, the actress announced, through her publicist, that her marriage to US-based Olumide Okunfulire was over. It was then reported that she had travelled to the US with her new husband, Tunde Oriowo, for their honeymoon.
But within the same month of her marriage crash announcement, the news of her child birth came and she named her baby after the new hubby, thus fuelling speculations.
Not too long after that happened, the story of her famous Range Rover SUV came into the scene. The SUV was said to have been initially bought for another Yoruba actress by her lover but things went wrong between them and he started dating Bakare. The dude was alleged to have later collected the car from his ex-lover and handed it over to Bakare. Bakare immediately customized it for fear of being whipped with the same cane that was used to whip the former.

Biodun Okeowo
Sexy actress, Biodun Okeowo of 'Tolani Oshinrin' fame, is unarguably one of the actresses swiftly expanding in both profile and controversy in Nollywood.
The Communications Arts graduate of the Lagos State University first hit headline for the wrong reason when she arrested and detained a movie marketer for failing to remit what he made from her self-produced flick, Omo Butty. The marketer, Native Pictures was dragged to the police station at Lion Building on Lagos Island, but was later released when his colleagues in the movie marketing business intervened and begged Okeowo, but not after the marketer had already spent a night behind bars. Her recent fight with a journalist working with a soft sell magazine also made headline. The fight which started at a popular fun spot in Ikeja, was settled at the police station in that same area.
Lizzy Anjorin
That petite and light-complexion Yoruba movie star, Elizabeth Anjorin, popularly known as Lizzy Anjorin is not new to scandals is an understatement. According to insiders, she does not court controversy, rather it courts her.
Fans and keen followers of events in the industry won’t forget in a hurry, her messy fight with former lover, Ade Dollar. Also, her roforofo media war with estranged colleague, Iyabo Ojo over seniority issues made headlines while it lasted.
Anjorin, recently visited Mecca and converted to Islam with Aisha as her new name. She was unconcerned about the furore generated by her new move in the media.
Iyabo Ojo
Adore her or detest her, Iyabo Ojo is not an actress that you can easily ignore. Her acting career has been full of success, scandals and controversies. The actress, who came into the industry about 15 years ago, has waded through many scandals and controversies to last her a life time. Ojo recently had a seniority fight with Lizzy Anjorin and Fathia Balogun. She was also in the news for allegedly dating popular politician Hon. Musiliu Obanikoro. Even her newly opened beauty parlour and spa made headline news with many asking where she got the millions she splashed on the place.
