The former governor of Anambra
State, Mr. Peter Obi has tendered his resignation letter as leader of the All
Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and the chairman of the party’s Board of
Trustees, BoT.
In a letter addressed to the
National Secretary of the party and submitted in the party’s Abuja office
yesterday, Obi said he was resigning as leader and BoT chairman into which he
was appointed in January 2014 by the National Executive Council of the party in
Awka.
According to him, the appointment
was yet to be ratified by a Convention of the party as stipulated by the
constitution several months after it was made.
Obi also cited family and personal
reasons, but did not give details.
