Igbo movies are fully back in Nollywood and seem to be taking over the make believe world for good.

Amazingly, one of the new female film producers propagating this new trend of language movies is cerebral Emeka-Nkeabo Chigozirim Sophia.

The goal getting filmmaker and bonafide member of the Association of Movie Producers (AMP), who joined the thespian industry in 2013, as a continuity assistant, is the proud producer of Ije Ogugu.

The thespian who official became an AMP member in 2015, also produced her wave-making Ije Ogugu same year, amid applause and plaudits from movie buffs and her colleagues.

Interestingly, the Port-Harcourt, Rivers State-born lady, has equally gone ahead to produce four additional short films and one cinema blockbuster, respectively.
The entire works were shot and completed this year.

In a chat with DAYLIGHT.NG, she revealed that Nollywood has always been her dream destination and now that she has started producing her own movies, there is no going back.
“Let me start first by thanking God who made it possible for me to excel in Nollywood. It was not easy when I started in 2013, but God in his infinite mercy saw me through.”

Speaking further, she said: “I shot an Igbo movie, Ije Ogugu to help revive Igbo language which is gradually dying and we are happy with the response so far. The aim is to help our children understand and speak the language and by so doing learn more about our rich culture, tradition and heritage.

For now, we are keeping the titles of our four short films and the cinema blockbuster secret, pending when we are ready to go public. You will be the first to announce it to our teeming fans once we are ready. I also want to thank AMP and the cast and crew of our film projects for their undying support and encouragement. We are already strategizing towards next year for the world premiere of these laudable film projects,” the visibly excited 30 year-old film maker hinted.
