Court Case! How Brymo floored Chocolate City…As judge lifts injunction order

It was jubilation galore in the camp of Ara crooner, Brymo recently when a court of competent jurisdiction declared that the injunction order brought against the Nigerian singer by his estranged label, Chocolate City, be lifted with immediate effect.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Buba I.N, SHOWBIZPLUS learnt lifted the injunction against the artiste, thus finally setting him free to continue the release of materials as a full-fledged and independent artiste.

Fear grips First Bank customers over bomb hidden inside banking hall




Another national tragedy was averted on Tuesday as a security guard attached to a branch of First Bank Plc in Osogbo, Osun State discovered an explosive substance wrapped in a polythene bag inside the banking hall.
SHOWBIZPLUS gathered from Punch Metro that immediately the discovery was made, bank officials and customers were quickly evacuated from the bank.
Some customers of the bank told our correspondent that a senior official announced to them that a substance suspected to be a  bomb had been discovered where it was planted.

After what seems like a carefully planned long wait, President Goodluck Jonathan has finally fired the Sports Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi. The long awaited sack of Abdullahi was announced just before the commencement of Wednesday’s (today) Federal Executive Meeting in Aso Rock, Villa, Abuja.
 Similarly, the president swore-in 11 new ministers recently confirmed by the senate and assigned them ministries.

PDP faults Amaechi's position on Centenary, says it's illegal

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described the resolution by lawmakers loyal to Governor Rotimi Amaechi on the Nigeria Centenary celebration as illegal and does not represent the position of Rivers people.
PDP in a statement by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser, Media to the State Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah, which was obtained by SHOWBIZPLUS strongly maintained that all sittings, resolutions and decisions of members of the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to Governor Rotimi Amaechi, outside the Hallow Chambers of the Assembly remain illegal, unconstitutional, criminal and obviously in default to an existing Supreme Court judgment.

Pension thief, Teidi, loses Brifina hotel to FG

The Federal High Court, Abuja, presided over by Justice Adeniyi Ademola, has granted a prayer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that Brifina Hotel, Abuja be forfeited to the Federal Government.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said in an electronic mail obtained by SHOWBIZPLUS on Tuesday that the hotel was traced to a former Director in charge of Pension Accounts in the office of the Head of Service, Dr. Sani Teidi.
Teidi  is being prosecuted by the EFCC for alleged pension fraud involving about N18.3bn.
Uwujaren said the hotel located at Plot 1106 Cadastral Zone, B02 Durumi District, Abuja was alleged to be a property acquired by Teidi, with the proceeds of the suspected fraud.

Kogi senator arrested for attempting to dupe Abia First Lady, impersonating EFCC official

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission recently began the prosecution of a former Kogi Central Senatorial candidate, Abdulazeez Bello, over alleged impersonation.
Bello is being prosecuted before Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo of an Ikeja High Court for allegedly impersonating the Director of Operations of the EFCC, Mr. Olaolu Adegbite.
SHOWBIZPLUS gathered that the anti-graft agency alleged that Bello impersonated Adegbite with the intention of defrauding Mrs. Mercy Orji, wife of Gov. Theodore Orji of Abia.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 50-year-old defendant is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy to obtain money by false pretence and forgery.

Randy Pastor arrested for conducting virginity test on member with finger



Wonders shall never end in this country. The Ogun State Police Command said yesterday, that it had arrested a pastor identified as Adekunle Kayode, 34, for conducting virginity test on a 20-year-old female member of his church in Abeokuta, the state capital, using his finger.
Kayode, a pastor in charge of Jesus Is The Way Evangelistic Ministry, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta, SHOWBIZPLUS gathered was reportedly arrested by detectives attached to Kemta Division in his house, 3, Okeyidi Street, Abeokuta.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said the pastor’s arrest was carried out when the victim narrated her ordeal to her father who then informed the police of the incident.
The pastor was reported to have been engaging in the act in the church weekly in a bid to confirm the girl’s virginity status.

Dangote makes top 25 richest billionaires as Bill Gates regains top spot as world’s richest man

Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, became the first African to be listed in the top 25, with a net worth of $25 billion.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates has regained the top spot as the world’s richest person, according to Forbes magazine’s annual ranking of global billionaires obtained by SHOWBIZPLUS.
Gates’ total net worth was estimated at $76 billion (£45.5 billion) this year, up from $67 billion in 2013.
His rise in wealth knocked Mexican telecoms tycoon Carlos Slim off the top spot into second place.
In total, there were a record 1,645 billionaires, according to Forbes.

Kashamu wants EFCC, ICPC to probe Sanusi now

Chairman of Organisation and Mobilisation Committee of the People’s Democratic Party in South-West geopolitical zone, Prince Buruji Kashamu, yesterday, insisted that the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, should be probed by anti‑graft agencies.
Kashamu in an open letter to President Goodluck Jonathan entitled: “Why Sanusi must be probed,” which was obtained by SHOWBIZPLUS, accused Sanusi of cowing and blackmailing many bank chiefs into silence while holding sway as the governor of the apex bank.
According to Kashamu, “I am worried by the attempt by the opposition to make it look as if they own Sanusi more than the government that appointed him, and thereby politicising the whole issue.

Sacrilege: Armed robbers invade church, kill two over offering, tithe

A gang of robbers invaded Vine Branch Church on Queen Elizabeth Road, Ibadan, Oyo State on Sunday, killing two policemen.

Some church members also sustained injuries as they attempted to flee the scene.
It was gathered that the robbers attacked the church to snatch offering and tithe boxes.
The robbers were said to have pretended to be worshippers as they joined the congregation during the service.
It was learnt that they struck soon after the offerings were collected.
SHOWBIZPLUS gathered from Punch Metro that a van with some bank officers and two policemen drove into the church immediately the offerings were collected to take them to safety.

Armageddon: How Boko Haram destroyed Borno Village, killed 39

SHOWBIZPLUS gathered that as rescue operations at the scene of Maiduguri’s twin bomb blasts progressed on Saturday, another set of Boko Haram insurgents wreaked havoc in  Mainok,  a village about 50 kilometres   from Maiduguri, Borno State.
The insurgents did not only sack the entire village, they killed no fewer than 39 residents.

The British Broadcasting Corporation reported that buildings in the village  were still on fire while bodies were lying in front of a  mosque waiting to be buried as of Sunday morning.
An eyewitness,who did not give his name,    said,  “They (insurgents) started shooting everywhere, they started burning all the houses in the village.
