Benue First Lady leads Akata Fishing Festival



Wife of Benue State governor and founder of the SEV-AV Foundation, Mrs. Yemisi Suswam has been named the face of Akata fishing and Cultural Festival.
The festival, a celebration of the rich culture of the Tiv people in Benue State, will begin on Tuesday, June 4, 2013.

BREAKING NEWS! Nollywood veteran, Peter Bunor down with stroke, AGN confirms

Very sad information reaching us from the national secretariat of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos State, has it that veteran actor, Peter Bunor is currently down with stroke.
In a recent chat with us, the General Secretary of the guild, Mr. Abubakar Yakubu, who spoke on behalf of the national President, Miss Ibinabo Fiberesima, confirmed that the respected thespian was truly down.

My fellow angry and disappointed Nigerians, ugly events currently taking place in our country, especially in the last couple of weeks clearly shows that our nation has gone past the edge of a precipice.
In fact, we are no longer sitting on a keg of gun powder. The gun powder has long exploded under this inefficient and corrupt administration that will definitely go down in the annals of this troubled nation as one of the worst and most inconsistent.
Nigerians have never had it this bad and bitter, especially under this callous, clueless and corrupt (mal)administration headed by Mr. President and his cronies.

Organised by the Pan African Film Development and Advancement Foundation, PAFDAF, through its registered project, African Film Development Foundation, AFDF, the auspicious event is said to mark a reawakening of the need for African sensitive filmmaking ventures and  will also further such sentiments in Diaspora Africa filmmaking projects from concept to exhibition practices.   In a press release made available to Sunday Express, AFDA will run through Lectures/Symposium on African Cinema, June 28; African Cultural Night also on June 28 and Awards/Gala Night on the 29th. The awards after party will be on June 30 at Zanzibar Island.

AGN plans Screen Actors Award ... Gets new bus from Kingsley Kuku

Towards enhancing professionalism and rewarding creativity, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has concluded plans to organise the maiden edition of the Screen Actors Award.
The award aims to recognise actors, individuals, corporate bodies, government and its agencies that have contributed to the growth of the industry.
Interestingly, a committee to organise the debut edition of the award was recently inaugurated by the national President of AGN, Ibinabo Fiberesima.
