The amiable and hard working Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Mr. Emeka Mba has joined the long list of leading Nigerians mourning the recent and sad demise of veteran female filmmaker, Amaka Igwe.
In a special and exclusive tribute sent to SHOWBIZPLUSng, the cerebral national administrator said Igwe's death was a monumental loss to the creative industry in Nigeria.
Amaka’s passing came as a huge shock. It
is not just a personal loss, since she is my big sister; it is a monumental loss
to the creative industry in Nigeria. I am at loss for words to describe this
sad turn of events…No more words can assuage the loss, no more tears to shed,
just gratitude to God for letting me share this world with Amaka Igwe. She
lives on in our hearts forever and her contributions to Nigerian film and
television shall remain a milestone separating creative genius from abundant
mediocrity. May God grant her eternal rest and strength to Charles and the rest
of the family to bear the loss.
