Can you believe this! Africa’s richest man and the world’s
23rd richest on the Forbes list, Alhaji Aliko Dangote is owing the Super
Eagles of Nigeria a paltry $1m unredeemed pledge. G-a-w-d! What an insult.
SHOWBIZPLUS reliably
learnt that the Super Eagles squad that won the African Nations cup last year
in South Africa has urged and pleaded with the billionaire businessman to
redeem the $1m he promised them for winning the Africa Cup of Nations.
Team goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, who spoke with the
team’s media officer Ben Alaiya on behalf of the other players said, “We
understand the busy schedule of Alhaji Dangote. We are just reminding him and
his aides to also help us remind him.”
Shockingly too, SHOWBIZPLUS
gathered that another
African billionaire and founder of the multi-billion dollar Heirs Holdings, Mr.
Tony Elumelu, is also owing the Eagles, many months after the Nations Cup ended.
Elumelu who recently invested $300 million in gas- flared electricity generating
plant promised the team $500,000, but is also yet to redeem the meagre pledge.
