Abike Dabiri, National Assembly hail Chiwetel Ejiofor's BATFA victory

The House Committee on Diaspora led by Honourable Abike Dairi-Erewa has joined the long list of personalities congratulating Nigerian born British actor, Mr. Chiwetel Ejiofor, for his historic BAFTA win in ‘12 Years a Slave’. 

A press statement signed by Erewa and sent to SHOWBIZPLUS, described Mr. Ejiofor’s victory as another example of the excellence displayed by Nigerians in the Diaspora.

 

"His Success is inspirational, especially to the younger generation, and will further spur several Nigerians in Diaspora to continue to strive to be the best wherever they are.

 

As a committee, we continue to stress that there are millions of Nigerians excelling everywhere in the world, far more than those portrayed in a negative spotlight by international media.
